Better for you, inspired by nature
With our passion for finding wellness and balance in life, we’re always seeking out new ways to craft healthier versions of our delectable products. Our recipe innovations focus on enhancing nutritional value through added fiber and beneficial ingredients, alongside reduced fat, sugar and calories – all without compromising on taste.
The added fiber in our chocolate bars is one of our most ingenious innovations. By substituting wholesome fiber for some of the refined sugar found in traditional chocolate recipes, we create healthful indulgences with two to five times more fiber than regular chocolate bars. And we’re setting the highest industry standard by crafting chocolate bars with ZERO trans fat. We’ve challenged our own innovations to ensure that not even a trace of trans fat will be found in our bars. So you can enjoy all the pleasures of Belgian gourmet chocolate without all the sugar and fat, and without ever compromising flavor.
Our delectable dark chocolate spreads also boast an industry first. Unlike traditional chocolate spreads that are made with a base of oil and are high in fat and calories, NEWTREE dark chocolate spreads are made without oil. Our proprietary recipe features 70% less fat and 40% less calories, while maintaining all the decadence and velvety smooth flavor of a traditional spread. NEWTREE dark chocolate spreads also contain a natural fiber of chicory root (Beneo™), which has been shown in independent scientific research to help improve digestive health and calcium absorption in the body.
The same philosophy goes into the creation of our Belgian soft waffle cookies. While traditional Belgian waffles are made with industrial and non-sustainable oils like palm oil, which are often hydrogenated and a source of harmful trans fats, our waffle cookies are made with natural cocoa butter and sunflower oil, for a light and natural flavor. NEWTREE Belgian waffle cookies are also crafted with acacia fiber, unrefined red cane sugar, and whole-grain spelt flour for added nutrition and exceptional, authentic flavor.

The science of chocolate
When you eat chocolate you feel happier. That’s because cacao causes a wave of “happiness hormones” to surge through the body. Serotonin, dopamine and endorphins are all released in the brain, creating a decidedly positive influence on well-being.
Chocolate also contains theobromine, a “natural cacao caffeine.” This pleasant stimulant causes the secretion and release of the hormone adrenaline, which stimulates the body and mind, so you feel more energized and alert.
Cacao is naturally rich in fiber. In fact, just 100g of cocoa powder contains approximately 20g to 33g of fiber. However, when ingredients other than cacao are added to chocolate, the fiber content of the product is lowered.
NEWTREE chocolate maintains a healthy ratio of natural fiber by carefully balancing the percentage of cacao with other ingredients and even adding extra fiber to our recipes. The result? NEWTREE chocolate bars contain 2 times to 5 times more fiber than comparable chocolate.
NEWTREE chocolate is a natural source of antioxidants, containing more polyphenol antioxidants than red wine, tea, or apples. In addition, NEWTREE chocolate contains added antioxidants from grape seed and green tea extracts.
These powerful antioxidants are capable of neutralizing or reducing the damage caused by free radicals in the body, which can lead to inflammation, disease, and premature aging.
The glycemic index measures the rate at which sugar is absorbed by the body. Foods with a high GI release sugar rapidly into the body, while foods with a lower GI release sugar more gradually. The consumption of foods with a low GI appears to increase the concentration of beneficial cholesterols in the blood, which may reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems.
Dark chocolate usually has a GI of 49, compared to 100 for glucose. This relatively low GI makes chocolate an ideal sweet treat that also elevates your mood.
Chocolate contains more than 800 different chemical molecules, including numerous vitamins and minerals that are derived from cacao. These include magnesium, which contributes to the equilibrium of the central nervous system, and calcium, which helps to build stronger bones.
Your taste of NEWTREE chocolate also nourishes the body with iron, potassium, zinc, and phosphorus, as well as vitamins D, E, H, and B12. So you can savor your health while savoring chocolate.
NEWTREE dark chocolate helps you maintain a positive balance between saturated and unsaturated fats. That’s because cocoa butter, the sole source of fat in NEWTREE dark chocolate, is mainly composed of three fatty acids in identical proportions: palmitic acid, stearic acid, and oleic acid.
Oleic acid is well known for its beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system. This fatty acid has been shown to help lower LDL cholesterol (“bad” cholesterol) while increasing HDL cholesterol (“good” cholesterol). And because stearic acid is rapidly desaturated in the body and transformed into oleic acid, palmitic acid is the only “real” saturated fatty acid in cocoa butter. By using cocoa butter as the only source of fatty acid in our products, we help keep your balance of saturated and unsaturated fats in harmony.
