Newtree Chocolate Cassis and blueberry cake

In the mood for a delicious snack? We found what you need! A Newtree Cassis chocolate and blueberry cake! You will find the fruity notes of the blackcurrant which will make you escape in the nature during your snack break.

Preparation and cooking time: 35min – for 8 people


  • 4 tablets of Newtree Cassis chocolate 80g
  • 225g powdered sugar
  • 225g butter
  • 12 teaspoons of blackcurrant cream
  • 300g blueberries
  • 100ml water
  • 5 eggs


  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Heat 150g of sugar and 100ml of water in a saucepan over low heat. Remove the pan from the heat when the mixture turns into syrup.
  • Put the Newtree Cassis chocolate and butter in a bowl. Heat the mixture in a double boiler.
  • Add the still hot syrup to the melted chocolate and remove from heat
  • Separate the yolks from the egg whites and beat the whites until stiff.
  • In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the remaining sugar.
  • Add this mixture of egg yolks and sugar to the chocolate and stir well.
  • Gently fold the egg whites into the mixture without breaking them.
  • Prepare a cake pan by buttering it with paper towels. Flour your pan and pour the cake dough into it.
  • Bake for 20 minutes at 180°C.
  • Let the cake cool before removing from the pan.
  • Once cooled, serve it with some blueberries and a dash of blackcurrant cream.
